Durham Cinematheque Movie in the Park

Durham Central Park
Pavilion at Durham Central Park Saturday, July 14th 9:00pm-10:30pm Free event

Durham Cinematheque presents Movies in the Park 2018.

Featuring: Really Really Big

This film program features small things and big things, captured by the camera in collaboration with its cousins the microscope and the telescope. Think Big, Be Small. Includes experimental films "News from the Sun" by Durham"s own Smith Brothers, and "Garden of Earthly Delights" by Stan Brakhage. On some of the educational films new soundtracks have been added, thanks to Little Jimmy K. As this might get a bit too cosmic we have added a few classic Hollywood musical numbers to bring it back to earth.

This is the last Movies in the Park show. This is the tenth year of this series and I have decided to put it to rest. Durham Cinematheque will continue to create and present unique film programs at the microcinema (305 E. Chapel Hill St) and here, there, and everywhere. For all the folks who have come out over the years, I appreciate your interest and support. It"s been fun.

Admission is free. They pass the hat vigorously so please plan to make a ridiculously large contribution. This is an outdoor show, bring your own chair. Show starts at 9:00, but you are welcome to come early, picnic, and enjoy the twilight.
