It looks like the weather will be fabulous this weekend and there are so many awesome events to choose from so get out and have a wonderful weekend.

The farmers markets are just about all open now! Holly Springs is one of the latest to open next weekend. Start your Saturday morning off with some fresh produce and flowers. For more information on the area's farmers markets, just go to the Event search on www.ParkGeek.com and type in farmers market under the topic. We can show you where and when the farmers markets are around the Triangle.
 
Spring Daze & More Festivals
 
Easter has past and now it is spring craft festival season. Bond Park will host Cary's Annual Spring Daze Arts and Crafts Festival. Featuring over 150 local artists, entertainment on four stages, a Children's Village, concessionaires with your favorite festival foods and Cary's Earth Day Celebration it promises to be a fun family event.
Sunday, go Green at Durham's Earth Day Festival. Learn about local and global environmental issues, engage in hands-on learning activities, and celebrate our environmental success. Festival goers will participate in "green" activities and demos; learn about many green practices and products at the Sustainability Expo and Earth Art Market; and enjoy great music, food and much more!
Springfest returns to the Chavis Community Center with a fun filled day of entertainment, rides, displays, vendors, and food for the entire family.
Its Family Field Day Saturday at Marbles Kids Museum. Re-live great field day memories with your kids as you join in on family relays, fair games, mascots, and water play. Sunday you can join the Raleigh Little Theatre to enjoy Selections from Sideways Stories from Wayside School.
Come celebrate Midieval Days with Holly Springs Library. There will be knights doing battle, ladies dancing, a large collection of medieval artifacts, kid crafts, storytime, and face painting.
Sunday is Carrboro Day! Celebrate the Town's 100th anniversary with lots of live music, poetry readings, festival food, a plant exchange, an ArtCenter Street Fair, dance performances, public works displays and a Carrboro History video. Click through for the schedule of all the events.
Bring your family to a free, daylong Songbird Celebration at Blue Jay Point County Park in recognition of International Migratory Bird Day 2011.
Teen Day Fuquay will treat local teens to free pizza, prizes, and high tech simulation to educate about the dangers of drinking and distracted driving.
The Golden Jubilee is back at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds next Wednesday. The Senior Expo is the largest of its kind in the Carolinas and boasts upbeat information and products that promote healthy being for people 50+ and their families including free health screenings, 150 exhibitors showcasing products and services, stage entertainment and seminars.
 
Fun at the Parks
 
Celebrate Arbor Day Friday morning by joining a ranger for an easy one mile hike to discover the more interesting trees at Jordan Lake.
Members of the Triangle Model Yacht Club are regulars each Saturday at Lake Crabtree County Park. Come see them sail and race radio control yachts.
Male White tale deer antlers drop off each year between December and April. Come join in the fun of finding these sheds at Harris Lake County Park on a White-tailed Deer Shed Antler Hunt.
Falls Lake State Recreation Area invites you to join them for a one mile Wildlife Walk.
Come and find out what a Floodplain is by observing one at Eno River State Park on this hike with a park Naturalist or practice your birding skills with their expert during some Birdwatching. On Sunday, learn about Webs and Their Weavers through a talk and a hike.
Join the Occoneechee Ranger to learn about lichen, ferns and moss for "Lichen or Not", Here We Come!
Right around the corner at West Point on the Eno, come search in the forest for spring herbs, nuts, and berries on a Spring Forage Walk.
Help plant Spring Flowers at Little River Regional Park, then plant some spring flowers in a pot to take home.
 
Art, Music and Culture
 
There are some fun events after dark this Friday. Night Magic on the American Tobacco Trail offers a fun family opportunity to explore the variety of sounds that make spring evenings so magical. Lake Michie invites you to join them for a Moonlight Paddle. Meet at the Sertoma Arts Center for a Family Night Hike. Marsh Creek Community Center will host a Family Fun Night. Head over to Little River Regional Park to join educators from Morehead Planetarium for some Skywatching. If you just want to sit back and relax, grab a blanket and enjoy a concert by The Small Ponds at the American Tobbaco Campus Amphitheatre.
Art in the Evening returns Friday night at the North Carolina Museum of Art with the featured film You'll Find Out and Jazz on the City Block, performances by jazz vocalists and musicians. Saturday, you can come back to the Art Museum for a Date with Egypt and the Invitational Poetry Slam .
The Hillsborough Sculpture Tour continues through the end of September. Enjoy the beautiful weekend as you stroll around Historic Hillsborough. Check out the winners and place you vote for the People's Choice Award.
Pullen Arts Center's Gallery will feature a selection of handmade books by a variety of artists in a show entitled The Book as Bridge.
Celebrate African culture and enjoy exciting musical and dance performances during African Music and Dance at the North Carolina Zoo.
Historic Yates Mill Pond County Park will be offering the Heritage Tour of the mill this weekend. Learn a little about the business side of operating the mill and then enjoy peeking back into history with a tour of the first floor of the fully restored mill.
Ben Tart will be the Artist at Work at a drop in program at the North Carolina Museum of History. Come watch him create historically accurate Civil War uniforms and learn how Tar Heels patched up what they wore.
In conjunction with the "[R]evolution of Media" exhibit at the Raleigh City Museum children will create their own Newspapers, explore the News & Observer Mini-Pages, and hear an exciting story! After the story and craft, families are invited to participate in a scavenger hunt in the exhibit.
Duke Homestead will be holding their annual Community Yard Sale. Next Wednesday, learn how to transplant tobacco seedlings and help the Homestead start its yearly tobacco field during Tobacco Planting Day.
The fun continues Sunday at Bond Park with a free concert by the Really Terrible Orchestra of the Triangle.
 
The State Fairgrounds
 
Celebrating the outdoors, the Outdoor Living, Home & Gift Expo will feature "made from scratch" food,. grill masters, wineries, outdoor living furniture, products and services, fine gifts and the annnual BBQ Chicken Cook-off!.
The Hunt Horse Center will be hosting a two day open horse show. The Triangle Wide Horseman's Association Show will feature Western, hunt seat, and saddle seat classes with a Versatility class Saturday night.
This weekend the Carolina Reptile & Exotic Animal Show returns to Exposition Center boasting national breeders and manufacturers selling reptiles, birds and mammals along with cages, food and supplies, and live animal shows and seminars on animal breeding and care.
Come cheer on the kids as they compete in the Young Champions Karate & Cheer State Competitions.
