Happy Easter! There are a few more Easter events this weekend along with Earth Day celebrations and some fun programs in the parks.
 
Easter is Here
 
Raleigh's biggest and best Easter Egg Hunt is back at Halifax Mall Saturday morning. This year there will be over 10,000 eggs for kids to find, as well as the story of easter on the Main Stage, local vendors selling food of all kinds and gift bags filled with information about Raleigh Easter.
Morrisville's Easter Egg Hunt will kick off the weekend Friday morning at the Cedar Fork District Park. Grab a basket and send your kids out searching for the lucky golden egg.
Downtown Rolesville also invites you to bring the kids, cameras and baskets to Easter in the Park Saturday afternoon.
Head downtown Sunday morning for the Capitol Square Easter Sunrise Celebration. Seven downtown churches will unite for a joyous celebration at the State Capitol complete with the 1st Baptist Church Wilmington Street Choir and the Raleigh Concert Band.
Senior Pastor Rodney Finch from Calvary Chapel Cary invites you to join them at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds for their Easter Celebration.
The North Carolina Zoo will be celebrating the season with Egg-Stravaganza. Meet the Zoo Keepers and see animals hunt for treats throughtout the day Saturday.
 
Festivals and Fun at the Triangle Parks & Museums
 
Friday is Earth Day and Marbles Kids Museum invites you to their Power Flower Blooming & Earth Day Celebration. Come see the 22 foot tall solar powered flower and learn all about solar energy.
The Hillsborough Sculpture Tour continues this weekend. Locations include the Historic Burwell School, Eagle Masonic Lodge, the Hillsborough Police Station, Turnip Patch Park, the Hillsborough Visitors Center, and the Old Orange County Courthouse. Come see the six winning sculptures and cast your ballot for the People's Choice Award.
One of the Triangle's largest display of classic and antique cars is back to Lake Wheeler for the Fun in the Sun Charity Car Show. There will be all sorts of cars including muscle cars, sports cars, pony cars, classics, antiques, street rods and trucks for you to browse.
HerbFest started last Friday and continues through Sunday at Festival Park. This weekend features plenty of rabbits, face painting and family fun along with the herbs.
The 2009 film (Untitled), directed by Jonathan Parker will be the featured film at Art in the Evening at the North Carolina Museum of Art Friday night.
Pullen Arts Center's Gallery will feature a selection of handmade books by a variety of artists in a show entitled "The Book as Bridge" through May 31st.
The Holly Springs Cultural Center will be playing the movie Tangled for their featured family movie.
 
Park Programs Offer Something for Everyone
 
Join North Carolina State University Students next Wednesday night for Twilight Canoeing and Campfire Delight. Enjoy activities such as canoeing, fishing, a nature walk and time spent around the campfire making s'mores.
Saturday morning, you are welcome to bring your kids to Jordan Lake State Recreation Area for C.A.S.T. (Catch A Sure Thing!). The program will teach basic fishing skills such as, how bait a hook, what fish are found in Jordan along with letting them test out their new skills. Saturday afternoon, build an eagle and learn more than 50 cool facts about eagles during Eagle Eyes. Come back to jordan Lake after dark for a Skywatching Session with astronomers from Morehead Planetarium.
Occoneechee Mountain will host both a Trail Workday and a Geology Hike on Saturday.
The Triangle Model Yacht Club will be back racing this weekend at Lake Crabtree County Park.
View a brief presentation on Historic Yates Mill's owners and operations in the Finley Center auditorium, then head to the mill for a guided Mill Heritage Tour.
 
The State Fairgrounds & More Farmer's Markets
 
They will be celebrating the holiday at the NC State Fairgrounds all weekend with the Easter Bunny Quarter Horse Circuit Horse Show.
Nearly 75 exhibitors will be selling sportscards and collectibles on approximately 160 tables at the Sports Card Collectibles Show.
The Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market will spring into the new season with their Spring Fling Kickoff next Wednesday. Head to City Plaza at lunchtime and enjoy Jammin' bluegrass music, Plein Art Painters on the plaza, Free re-usable shopping bags and Band Lunches with locally sourced ingredients sold by Solas and Zely & Ritz.
