MLK, Jr. DREAMFEST: THE DREAM REVISITED: Civil Rights in Perspective

Downtown Park & Cary Arts Center
The Cary Theater Thursday, January 11th 7pm Free; Tickets required

A film by Charles and Mary Love which asks viewers to look back at where we’ve come from and forward to where we might be going. This 34-minute documentary demonstrates the energy and courage of those who paved the way in the civil rights movement. Inspired by the vision of Martin Luther King Jr., the filmmakers, after establishing a historical context with archival footage and imagery, interview some of today’s opinion leaders, community organizers and other citizens to investigate how much progress has been made while using Martin Luther King’s vision as a moral reference. Their objective is to inspire reflection as well as constructive discussion and involvement in contemporary civil rights issues.
