Mumfest Weekend

Tryon Palace Historic Sites and Gardens
Tryon Palace Historic Site October 11th-13th Friday-Sunday Free garden admission; interior tours require the purchase of a ticket.

On Saturday you can browse through the plants available for sale at the Palace"s annual Fall Heritage Plant Sale. And, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday take a break from the MumFestivities to stroll through more than 14 acres of beautifully-sculpted gardens filled with an explosion of chrysanthemums. These beautiful floral displays will provide a breath-taking backdrop for a weekend filled with free family entertainment, arts and crafts, and fabulous foods.

Completed in 1770, Tryon Palace served as the first permanent capitol of North Carolina and home to Royal Governor William Tryon and his family. During MumFest weekend the Palace grounds are open to the public.

Tyron Palace Gardens are free and open to the public throughout MumFest weekend. The gardens are open as follows: Friday, October 12, 9am - 6pm; Saturday, October 13, 9am - 6pm; Sunday, October 14, Noon - 6pm. The entrance to the Tryon Palace Gardens is at the intersection of Pollock and George Streets.

MumFest attracts festival goers from all across the southeast. We invite you to experience this award winning festival  in New Bern"s beautiful historic downtown and waterfront. Choose from over 300 exhibitors. There"s pottery, crafts, art and a wide variety of food that will satisfy anyone’s appetite. You can spend a little or a lot! MumFest fits all budgets!

Also this year is the Miller Lite Beer Garden - a sports bar with live music all weekend long!!! There is no entry fee but you must be at least 21 years old to enjoy the beer and wine. Alcoholic beverages are restricted to the Beer Garden.
