Military Services Day

The North Carolina Museum of History
North Carolina Museum of History. Saturday, September 29th 11am-3pm Free

Help honor the service and sacrifice of North Carolinians who served during World War I.

September 29 marks the 100 year anniversary of "Breaking the Hindenburg Line," an assault during World War I that took more North Carolinian lives than any other battle during the war.

Wake and District, Raleigh’s Bagpipe and Drum Band will perform, and representatives from the Veterans History Project will be on-site, along with displays from the USO (United Service Organizations) and American Red Cross, the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, and North Carolina State University’s College of Education. A mobile unit of the North Carolina National Guard Museum will display relevant artifacts from their collections and a WWI Service Card search station will round out the day.
