Earth Day Bird Walk

Eno River State Park
Eno River State Park Sunday, April 22nd 8am Call 919-383-1686 to register for this free program.

Mohawks, long & short tail feathers, hooked beaks, hammer beaks, red, blue, orange, yellow, tiny, large, squeaky, whistl-y, screechy– the descriptors for the many birds at the Eno are numerous, and attempting to identify these birds can seem overwhelming. Join an Eno River educator to work on your birding skills or to simply enjoy the presence of birds on a 1.5 mile hike. All birding levels are welcome!

Where: Few"s Ford Picnic Area. From the main entrance to the park (6101 Cole Mill Rd, Durham, NC), continue all the way down the road until it dead ends into a large parking area.

When: We will start at 8:00 am and will go until (depending on the amount of birds out) 9:30/10am. It"s okay to leave before 10am.

What to bring: Wear good sturdy shoes and long pants. Please bring binoculars (esp. if you"re an adult). I have multiple kid-size binoculars and 2 adult size. Let me know if you need to borrow any. Please do not bring your dogs (I love them, but the birds don"t).
