Chavis Community Center and Pool
GoRaleigh bus routes #13 and #22 & near the #22 bus stop in front of the Walnut Creek Wetland Center. Saturday, October 7th noon-2pm Free event

As Chavis Park Celebrates its 79th anniversary, GoRaleigh and the Office of Raleigh Arts have teamed up to create an ART-LINE series of musical performances aboard and along bus routes which lead to the Chavis Park Clebrates event.

From 12pm to 2pm on Saturday, October 7th, GoRaleigh passengers can catch musical performances while riding bus routes #13 and #22, as well as near the #22 bus stop in front of the Walnut Creek Wetland Center. The ART-LINE also incorporates Art On the Move buses which are wrapped with the artwork of local artists.

According to Sarah Powers, Executive Director of the Office of Raleigh Arts, “The Chavis Celebrates ART-LINE is an exciting way for residents to make their way to and from the Chavis Park Celebrates event. Attendees will have a chance to see Art-On-The-Move buses up close while enjoying live musical performances.”

Performers include the string band of Dwight Hawkins & the Piedmont Highballers, Violet Bell, and Flor y Canto.
Attendees can catch performances aboard the ART-LINE by purchasing a ride on either #13 or #22 bus routes, or by gathering on the lawn of the Walnut Creek Wetland Center.
