Jimmie Dale Gilmore, followed by outdoor screening of The Big Lebowski

For their fifth The Dude Abides Party, they’ve invited the great Texas singer-songwriter Jimmie Dale Gilmore to perform before the screening of The Big Lebowski. Gilmore is best known as a member of the West Texas trio The Flatlanders (Joe Ely and Butch Hancock), who appeared at the NCMA in 2004. He has made several fine albums on his own and wrote the classic song “Dallas.”

Gilmore plays a small but memorable role as Smokey in The Big Lebowski. His character is threatened with a pistol by The Dude’s sidekick, Walter Sobchak (John Goodman). We’ll conduct a brief Q&A with Gilmore about his involvement in the movie before it screens.

Visit the food truck roundup and sip White Russians while enjoying the concert. Dress appropriately! Food trucks include American Meltdown, Baozi, Cousins Maine Lobster, Flirting with Fire, MoonRunners, Qspresso, Two Roosters Ice Cream, and Not Just Icing.
