Arbor Day

Downtown Park & Cary Arts Center
Downtown Cary Park Saturday, March 16th 1pm-3pm Free Admission

Each spring they continue the national tradition of celebrating the importance of trees with their Arbor Day Celebration in downtown Cary. A tree dedication ceremony opens the event, after which guests can enjoy free tree-themed crafts for kids, education, and entertainment. The event is free with local food and drink available for purchase. While supplies last, attendees can pick up a free tree to plant at home and enjoy time for Q&A with our certified arborist including tips for proper planting. Additional booths will be onsite representing other local environmentally focused groups.

This year they are celebrating our their 36th year as a Tree City USA Community, a designation that they are awarded based on their investment in the management of their urban forests.

The Arbor Day foundation is the world’s largest tree-planting organization and in our community we offer citizens the opportunity to plant trees, and perform other environmental service, through our Spruce program. Since the Spruce program first began in 2009, our volunteers have planted over 10,000 trees, shrubs and plants in our community.
