Phoenix Fest

Durham Central Park
Downtown Durham - Historic Fayetteville St. Saturday, October 5th 9:00am-6:00pm Free event

This year, in addition to celebrating Phoenix Fest"s 18th year on historic Fayetteville Street,  we"ll also celebrate the 150th anniversary of Durham"s founding. African Americans have played a significant role in Durham"s past and figures large into Durham"s future.

Phoenix Fest has been selected as a celebration site for Durham 150. So get on board with the year-long festivities and let"s celebrate all that"s great and wonderful about Durham and its African American culture.

Phoenix Fest, sponsored by the Phoenix Shopping Centers, is an annual cultural celebration of the business and cultural legacy of Durham’s Hayti community, one of North Carolina’s oldest African American communities.

In celebrating Hayti"s legacy, Phoenix Fest will again live up to its reputation as Durham"s funkiest street music festival when Fayetteville Street is blocked off and transformed into a bustling bazaar with an early morning parade, all-day music, delicious food and dazzling vendor displays that will deliver a fun-filled day for thousands of festival goers.
