Spring has sprung and winter"s done!

Downtown Wake Forest and the Town of Wake Forest are offering a special event on Saturday, April 7, that welcomes and celebrates the return of weather suitable for enjoying the great outdoors.

Promising something for the entire family, Wake Forest"s fifth annual Dirt Day will take place along South White Street in downtown Wake Forest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Kids will have a blast playing in the sand, planting herbs for home windowsills, and exploring trucks from S.T. Wooten Corporation. Adults will have the chance to learn about the newest techniques in gardening and composting, check out the newest in outdoor activity gear, and visit with a variety of vendors offering an array of products and insight
But that’s not all. Dirt Day participants can also make a craft from recycled materials with the Scrap Exchange, paint rocks, meet owls and other rescued wildlife, and rub elbows with Master Gardeners and other outdoor educators.

Offering music, dancing in the street and culinary delights from downtown’s wonderful assortment of restaurants and food vendors, Dirt Day offers the perfect opportunity to shake off the winter blues and get involved with an outdoor group that shares your interests.

Come prepared to work out and try something new. Exercise classes will be held in Centennial Plaza in front of Town Hall. Adult Yoga at 10:15 am and Family Yoga at 1:45 pm, sponsored by Unwined on White, and Boot Camp at 11:15 am, sponsored by Camp Gladiator.
