All Aboard the Santa Train!
The Museum of Life and Science is pleased to host the 40th Annual Santa Train, the Museum"s largest annual fundraising event and holiday tradition for the whole family.

Thousands of twinkling lights will shine throughout the Museum campus, guiding the way to all the fun! Check out the "ice" skating rink for skate-in-your-socks excitement. Sip complimentary hot chocolate, have your face painted, and explore our crafts and activities tent where you can make and take special treats and learn about the science of Santa. Then hop on board the train for a moonlit ride to the North Pole, where Santa and his elves will greet all of our guests. On your way out, be sure to visit our pop-up Museum gift shop to take home something special!

Your ticket purchase does so much more than help you make memories with your family. Proceeds from this event support the Museum"s mission to create a place of lifelong learning where people from young child to senior citizen embrace science as a way of knowing about themselves, their community, and their world.

ACTIVITIES

Climb aboard the Ellerbe Creek Railway for a journey to the North Pole. Enjoy a ride through thousands of twinkling lights as we make our way to meet Santa and his elves. Back at the station explore festive activites including:

Face painting by Paint Savvy
Holiday crafts
"Science of Santa" activities including hands-on snow polymer, simple circuits, and more
Holiday music and light displays
"Skate in your socks" synthetic ice rink
Complimentary hot chocolate
Pop-up Museum gift shop
Sprout Cafe will be open for light snacks and coffee
Pre-registration required. Children 2 and under free.

Sensory Friendly Santa Train
Friday, December 1st Train times: 5:20pm and 5:40pm

We"re excited to offer sensory-friendly Santa Train rides for guests with Autism Spectrum Disorder and similar needs. Train rides will include no yelling in the tunnel and no whistle sound; additional sounds and some lights will be lowered. Additional staff and volunteers from UNC TEACCH Autism Program will be on-hand to assist guests. Cool down kits, noise-cancelling headphones, and social narratives available upon request.

Please reserve these train times for our ASD community. Train rides after 6pm will return to full light and sound.

If you are unable to ride at this date and times, cool down kits, noise-cancelling headphones, and social narratives will be available for all Santa Trains.
