Town of Garner's Independence Day Celebration

Join us for an evening of fun for the whole family featuring performances by The Embers and the North Carolina Symphony.

Your children will love our Kids Adventure Zone featuring inflatables, games and crafts. Bring a picnic, or enjoy delicious concessions provided by food trucks and local non-profit organizations.

Top off your evening with the best fireworks show in the Triangle, and you"ll see why our citizens are so proud of their hometown.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
5:00 p.m. - Kids Zone Opens, Veterans Memorial Tours Begin
5:30 p.m. - Opening Band
7:30 p.m. - Veterans Memorial Tours End
8:00 p.m. - Mayor"s Presentation
8:30 p.m. - NC Symphony Performs, Kids Zone Closes

FIREWORKS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOW THE NC SYMPHONY PERFORMANCE (approximately 9:30 p.m.)
The Garner Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department would like to inform you of the parking/traffic plan that will be utilized for the upcoming annual Independence Day Celebration on July 3rd at Lake Benson Park.  The Garner Police Department will close Buffaloe Road (between Aversboro Road and Highway 50) on July 3rd at 5:00 p.m. to all through traffic. Area residents will be permitted to gain access to their homes with a resident pass.  

At approximately 8:45 p.m., Garner Police will close Aversboro Road at Timber Drive to all southbound traffic to prepare for the conclusion of the event.

NEW shuttle location this year! The Town will also establish a shuttle bus route for patrons wishing to attend the event. The shuttle bus service for the July 3rd event is free and will begin at 5:00 p.m. and conclude after the event. The shuttle will run from South Garner High School.

Picnics, Coolers and Beach Umbrellas Welcome!*

In order to maintain a safe and secure environment, the following items are prohibited at Town-sponsored events:

Alcoholic Beverages, Glass Containers, Grills,  Drones, Fireworks/Sparklers, Pets**, Tailgating, Tents/Canopies***

*Umbrellas must be lowered for NC Symphony performance and fireworks.
**For the purpose of public safety, the Town of Garner does not allow guests to bring pets to any Town-sponsored special events. Exceptions apply for trained service animals. Please note, the Lake Benson Dog Park will be closed on July 3.
***Note that any canopies shown in pictures are in use by contracted vendors for this event.
