Statewide Star Party

Come look closer than you ever have before at Earth’s most important, most impressive star: the Sun. William B. Umstead State Park is hosting a sun viewing party!

Rain or shine, they will have activities that relate to our solar system and the sun in particular. Learn about thermonuclear fusion, solar flares, solar winds and the history of the study of the sun. If conditions are right they will set up their telescope with a solar filter for viewing the sun.
