Summer Food Service Program

Historic Oak View County Park
Historic Oak View County Park, Carya Picnic Shelter June 17th-August 9th, Monday through Friday 11am - 12pm (Lunch Served).

During the school year, more than 22 million children receive free and reduced price breakfast and lunch through the School Breakfast and National School Lunch Programs. But what happens when school lets out? Summer Meal Programs are designed to make sure children can get the nutritious meals they need during the summer months so they’re ready to learn when they return to school in the fall. To help, Wake County is partnering with local nonprofit organizations to conduct the Summer Food Service Program, which offers children and teens free, nutritious meals at one of many participating sites throughout Wake County during the summer months.

Oak View is one of these sites helping to ensure children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. In addition to the lunches, free programs and activities will be offered throughout the week!
