Our amazing Fall Festival season is here! The fun in the Triangle starts Thursday.

Stay after hours at Marbles Kids Museum every Thursday for reduced admission during Play Late for Less.

Thursday night's Science Cafe at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences will feature panelists discussing Flooding and Hurricane Safety.

Friday at lunchtime, they will be celebrating Grape Day at the State Farmers Market in Raleigh. There will be local Wine Tasting, Grape Sampling, Free Recipes and lots of NC Grapes for sale!

Festivals Galore!

Celebrate 50 Years of Raven Rock Saturday with an Art & Eco Festival. The festival features local artists, nature hikes and displays, historians, music, games and food trucks.

Once a year the Harris Nuclear Power Plant opens its doors for Community Day. There will be opportunities to tour the control room simulator, meet live animals from the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, learn about nuclear plant security, meet Plant Experts and see behind the scenes.

Come to downtown Raleigh to experience four days of art, design + creativity during SPARKcon running Thursday through Sunday. Activities include 700 street painters, a fashion show, film screenings, creative projects for kids, as well as music, theater, dance, and athletic performances. SPARKcon is actually 13 festivals wrapped into one amazing Downtown event. Click through for all the information.

Head to downtown Knightdale Saturday for the annual Knightdale Education Festival. There will be vendors, food trucks, inflatables, art displays, local performers, school supplies, interactive art during the festival followed by a free concert by Elivs, Slave and Rick James" Stone City Band.

Dix park will host the City of Oaks PirateFest Saturday. Learn all about the history of pirates in North Carolina, meet Captain Blackbeard, explore a pirate ship, engage in sword fights, experience cannon fire and more!

For you and your dog, Dog Day in the Park in Holly Springs will be held again this year at Sugg Farm Park. There will be food, fun, entertainment and adoptable dogs. Also at Sugg Farm on Saturday, the Holly Springs Police will offer a Rabies and Micro-chipping Clinic.

The Raleigh Fall Bird Fair comes to the North Carolina State Fairgrounds Saturday along with Party with the Pugs on Sunday. Join them for a fun family charity event to benefit Pawsitively Pugs Rescue

The Apex Music Festival is back Saturday as the only adult-focused fall music festival in the North Carolina Triangle area.

More Fun Activities at the Parks

Bring your young children to participate in Nature Stories on Thursday mornings at Prairie Ridge Ecostation for Wildlife Learning. Come back on Saturdays to learn how you can become a Citizen Scientist. Prairie Ridge also invites you to Special Sunday Programs during the month of September. This week's program will focus on Tracks on the Trails.

Historic Yates Mill Park comes Alive After Dark Friday. Enjoy a raccoon-themed activity, then head out into the park in search of these ring-tailed night mammals.

Yates Mill will also be hosting both Old Mill Tours on Saturday and Mill Heritage and Local History Tours on Sunday.

Explore Durham's Civil Rights Legacy on the third Saturday of every month by taking a free Civil Rights Heritage Walking Tour.

Join a Falls Lake park ranger Saturday as you discover the 20+ different species of Snakes that reside in the piedmont region of North Carolina.

Join an Eno River Naturalist for a hike along the Pea Creek Trail Sunday to learn about Margaret Nygard and the Eno River Association, the group of citizens who preserved the land that is now the Eno River State Park.

Music, Movies & Culture

Traditional Dance Caller, Connie Carringer will teach fun dances for the whole family with music by an old-time string band for Friday's Family Dance at the Halle Cultural Arts Center.

Fridays on the Front Porch in Downtown Chapel Hill will feature local band Big Fat Gap and Triangle Food Trucks, 454 Grill Truck and Soom Soom Pita Pockets.

Friday Night on White closes out the season in Wake Forest with a concert by Crush.

The Trailblazers will be playing a Sertoma Series Concert Saturday evening at Cary's Bond Park.

Pirates of the Caribbean will be the featured flick at Dix Park after dark Saturday.

Hilacasters will be the featured band at this week's Sunday in Hillsborough Concert.

Bring your little ones to enjoy the movie Atlantis Monday morning at the Holly Springs Cultural Center.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs will be the featured movie Tuesday morning at the Halle Cultural Arts Center.
