There are a wide variety of concerts, movies, park events and historical programs throughout the weekend.

Science Thursday at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences features extended hours and a competitive round of Science Trivia.

From 3pm-7pm every Thursday and Friday, Marbles Kids Museum drops their admission price to $3 and stays open late for family fun.

First Friday Fun

First Friday is always a blast in Downtown Raleigh!

The City of Raleigh Museum and Marbles Kids Museum feature extended hours and special activities.

Along with the Museums, local Raleigh galleries and restaurants host a Downtown Gallery Walk.

Iris after Dark returns every Friday with music, small plates and special drinks at the North Carolina Museum of Art. While you are there, celebrate with a screening of Alien for its 40th anniversary.

Bands, Bites and Boats at Bond Park will feature the sounds of Garland Mason along with the Food Truck Brooklyn Boys Pizza and the Brewery Southern Peak.

Fridays on the Front Porch of the Carolina Inn will bring a local band to the stage along with Triangle Food Trucks, The Humble Pig and Pie Pushers.

Far from the city lights, Bass Lake invites you to bring the kids to the park for a Family Fun Night. Start off with some arts and crafts, meet a live animal, or borrow a fishing pole and then end the evening with a kid friendly concert with Trish Miller or a magic show..

Jamrock will this Friday's featured band playing reggae rhythms for a Starlight Concert Series at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center.

Festivals and Fun

Friday kicks off a week of festivities celebrating the Grand Opening of the new Moore Square! Join them in Raleigh Friday for the ribbon cutting, Saturday for the Grand Opening Celebration, Sunday for the movie Iron Giant, Monday for children's activities, Wednesday for games and dancing, Thursday for art in nature and Friday for giant board games on the lawn.

Take an adventure into the world of Sunflowers during Saturday's family program at the North Carolina Museum of Art's sunflower field Saturday. Learn about plant life and pollinators, make art, observe nature, and practice collecting insects.

The 2019 UNC Football Team will host the annual Meet the Heels Day Saturday at the Eddie Smith Field House.

The State Fairgrounds is hosting the 2019 NC Japan Summer Festival featuring traditional-type street food and drink (including Japanese beer), traditional Japanese bon odori dancing and performances by taiko drums, Japanese musical instruments, Japanese choir and musicians, Japanese martial arts demos, and other Japanese cultural entertainment.

The North Carolina State Fairgrounds will host a Finally Farm Show Series at the Hunt Horse Complex.

Science Saturday returns to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences with Electronic Textiles: Fabric that can feel.

All upcoming Brides are invited to the North Carolina Museum of History Saturday evening. Come meet local wedding professionals as you enjoy wine, taste treats and cakes from local caterers, listen to entertainment and watch a fashion show.

Join them at the Halle Cultural Arts Center for a Super Fun Saturday with free arts & crafts for children.

The Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo will bring over 50 food trucks to downtown Sunday afternoon along with tables and chair seating for over 1,000 people.

Jazziando will be playing latin and jazz Saturday night at Southern Boundaries Park.

Molly Burch will present a concert Saturday night at the Apex Nature Park.

Thelonius is the featured band at Sunday's Concert in the Park at Pullen Park.

Captain Underpants will be the featured flick Monday morning at the Holly Springs Cultural Center.
