Festivals Around Town

The North Carolina Museum of History presents the annual Longleaf Film Festival 2016 both Friday and Saturday. This year's free festival will screen juried narrative and documentary film submissions from around the world-and our own backyard.

Holly Springs will celebrate Bass Lake DaySaturday with live music, interactive exhibits, crafts, games and live animals.

Learn about native Snakes and their important role in nature both Saturday and Sunday at the North Carolina Zoo.

Morrisville Community Park presents SpringFestSaturday with entertainment, carnival midway games including a variety of kiddie and adult games, a Kid Zone, inflatables, mechanical bull and some of your favorite food trucks!

Fun Thursday & Friday

Stop by the State Farmers Market in Raleigh Thursday for Strawberry Day. Along with tons of fresh, sweet, local strawberries, there will be free samples, a dessert contest, free recipes and an opportunity to meet Suzy the Strawberry.

Back Porch Music on the Lawn returns to the American Tobacco Campus Amphitheatre Thursday with a concert by The Old Ceremony playiing lush, literate rock as the Headliner and The Backsliders playing as Opener.

This Thursday's Science Cafe at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences asks the uncomfortable question Got Roaches? along with extended hours, special programming and discounts in the Museum stores.

Friday night's Movie by Moonlight at Regency Park will feature "Rio 2" so pack up the whole family, a picnic and a blanket.

Getting Outside at the Parks
