Looks like its going to be warm again this weekend. Luckily, we have some wonderful museums if you want to get out of the house, but stay out of the heat. Plenty of evening hikes, movies and concerts let you get out and enjoy the fresh air once the sun goes down.
Get out to a Park for some fun in the sun
Did you know the NC State Parks offer a wide variety of free hikes and programs every week? Learn To Fish Friday afternoon during a peaceful hour of fishing on Big Lake at Umstead State Park.
Eno River State Park invites you to go Moth-ing with them Friday evening. Sunday afternoon they will offer a program on Animal Families.
Come and take a hike to the Overlook on a Sensory Night Hike Friday after the sun goes down.
Come and learn about Occoneechee Mountain's Geologic Wonders Saturday as you explore the pyrophyllite quarry with a real geologist. Join them with your kids as they Go Fishing Sunday morning.
Explore Nature at Night over at Lake Crabtree County Park Friday as they learn all about the variety of Moths that call Lake Crabtree home.
Join Harris Lake County Park staff on a special Behind the Scenes Tour of wildlife monitoring at Harris Lake County Park Saturday.
Tuesday is Nature Play Day at Blue Jay. Join them for a drop in program of self-guided activities focused around this month's theme of gardening.

Oak City 7 is back to Raleigh's City Plaza this Thursday night with the bands Johnny Folsom 4 , Megan Doss Band, and Windsor Oaks Band.
The Sweet Carolina Music Series brings the band Embers to the stage at Downtown Chapel Hill's University Mall Thursday after work.
Friday on the porch of the Carolina Inn, Mick Mixon will be playing the tunes and Stuffit and D"Burritos will provide the food trucks.
The Luxuriant Sedans will be playing Friday night at Durham Central Park for a Warehouse Blues Concert.

Interstellar will be playing on the big outdoor screen after dark Saturday at the Apex Nature Park.
Planes will be playing in the cool air conditioning of the Holly Springs Cultural Center Saturday morning. Come back Monday for Disney's Jungle Book.

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences' Science Thursday will be explore Solar Power at the Science Cafe and the Rise of the New Astronomy at a Science Talk.
The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences also invites you to get out of the heat and check out their current special exhibit, Dig it! The Secrets of Soil. Running until August 16th, the free exhibit explores the profound ways soil supports our lives. Using videos, hands-on models, interactive displays and real soil samples, the exhibition presents an eye-opening and engaging story about soil, the "skin of the earth" developed by the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History.
