 It looks like the weather is going to stay cool this weekend. Luckily, there are several super indoor events so you can get the family out of the house and stay warm.

Festivals Galore & More

The African American Cultural Celebration at the North Carolina Museum of History will feature presenters, musicians, storytellers, dancers, historians, playwrights, authors, artists, re-enactors, chefs, teachers, and scholars to celebrate North Carolina's diverse African American heritage and culture. The theme of this year's festival is from Jubilee to Justice.

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in conjunction with NASA brings Astronomy Days to Raleigh both Saturday and Sunday. Visitors of all ages can enjoy a wide variety of exhibits, presentations and activities throughout the weekend.
 
Celebrate the Vietnamese New Year at the TET Festival. The annual event at the State Fairgrounds will feature cultural foods, vendors martial arts demonstrations and children's cultural dancing.
Visit sculptures big and small and discover the language of clay at this Saturday's Family Fun Saturday at the North Carolina Museum of Art. The event features a gallery tour and studio workshop.
 
Head over to Durham Central Park for their first Food Truck Rodeo of 2014 on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Fun Starts Early
 

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences opened its exhibition of the winning images from the ninth annual Wildlife in North Carolina magazine photo competition. The 31 photographs will be on display in the Museum through March.

Thursday night's Science Cafe at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences will feature What is a Healthy Diet?. Come enjoy the extended hours and learn about what the latest studies say.
 
The Raleigh Winterfest Ice Rink remains open through February 1st. Click through for info on all the themed days and special deals.
 
Traditional Dance Caller, Connie Carringer will host a Family Dance with fun dances for the whole family and a live old-time string band Friday night at the Halle Cultural Arts Center.
 
Art in the Evening will kick off the weekend at the NC Art Museum Friday night with extended hours, special drinks & small plates and the band, The Beast. The Friday Night Sound Bite will explore the complexities of leadership in one of their European or American galleries. End the evening with a screening of the 1991 film, Night on Earth.
 
Flaherty Park Community Center invites you to an Open House Friday night to learn about the variety of programs offered, meet instructors and enjoy demonstrations and performances.
 
Brother Bear will be the featured family film Saturday morning at the Holly Springs Cultural Center.
 
Come back to the Holly Springs Cultural Center Monday morning to enjoy the movie Mulan.
 
Celebrate Winter at the Parks
 
Join rangers at Durant Nature Park for a Predators on the Prowl program Friday evening. You'll start with a walk in the woods to look and listen for winter predators and finish by roasting marshmallows over a campfire

Get an Introduction to Winter Photography Saturday morning at Harris Lake County Park. Sunday afternoon, the Natural Reads Book Club will meet to discuss the book A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail, by Bill Bryson.
 
Join Blue Jay Point staff Saturday afternoon to explore Winter Wonders. Look for signs of winter animal activity on a frosty afternoon hike and create your own animal themed snowflake to take home!
 
They will be Birdwatching over at Eno River State Park Saturday morning. Come back to the park Sunday morning for a Beginner Birders Hike.
 
Come and learn about Occoneechee Mountain's geologic wonders. Explore the pyrophyllite quarry with a real geologist on Saturday's Geology Hike.
 
You can become a Citizen Scientist at Prairie Ridge Ecostation for Wildlife Learning Saturday morning or join them to Walk Through the Seasons Tuesday morning.
 
Fun at the Fairgrounds
 
The Kids Exchange Consignment Sale is back this weekend to the North Carolina State Fairgrounds. Come get great deals on like new clothes, toys and other children's items.

Saturday is the DogGoneFast Flyball Tournament at the Holshouser Building. Flyball is a fast-paced family-oriented dog sport that has become a hit on Animal Planet and ESPN's Great Outdoor Games.
 
The Raleigh Winter I Hunter Show will run all weekend at the Hunt Horse Complex at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds. The indoor hunter/jumper show gives any horse lover a front row seat to the action.
