November 22nd - November 28th 2012 Triangle

by Pam & Michael Davison

Happy Thanksgiving! If you are staying in town and are looking to get out and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine before or after your Turkey feast, there are plenty of wonderful parks in the area. Do be aware that several local county and city parks (the ones with gates) will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Neighborhood playgrounds, greenways and state parks are a great destination to run off some energy or extra calories.

The ParkGeek Passport Challenge continues through the Holiday. The Wake County Parks all offer unique experiences and are great spots to take out of town visitors. Explore the history of Yates Mill or Oak View. Play a game of disc golf or do some mountain biking at Harris Lake. Crowder and Blue Jay are wonderful places to observe our local birds. Bring the bikes for a ride along the American Tobacco Trail or explore the shoreline at Lake Crabtree. Scan in the QR Code at each park and log in your fun!
