It looks like its going to be a beautiful weekend. Take advantage of the clear skies Thursday night at the Holly Springs Cultural Center for Our Sky Night with the Space Telescope Science Institute.

This is also a big weekend for Easter egg hunts and Spring Festivals! ParkGeek will be Stuck in the Mud at Frog Fest so hop on over to Crowder Park for the fun.

Egg Hunts & Easter Fun
 

Easter is not far away and yard sale season is upon us. The Spring Fling, Yard Sale and Egg Hunt at Womble Park has both. Start the morning off with a Community Wide Yard Sale. Add some games, inflatables, and music for a full family event and top it all off with an egg hunt.

The Easter Bunny hops into Fuquay-Varina a week early bringing 12,000 candy and toy filled eggs for the Town's annual Easter Egg Hunt. Also Saturday, bring your kids to Downtown Fuquay-Varina for a Candy Hop.
Cary kicks off the festivities with Breakfast with the Bunny, follows up with their 21st Annual Easter Egg Hunt and closes the day out with entertainment by the Sandbox Band.
 
Come celebrate the Spring Eggstravaganza at Garner's Lake Benson Park with entertainment, live music, nature activities, games, inflatables, arts and crafts, food vendors and an egg hunt.
 
Children can enjoy an Egg Hunt, candy, prizes, arts, crafts, playgrounds and of course all of the rides at Pullen Park.
 
Mordecai Historic Park will treat visitors to food, music, and a visit from a special bunny in addition to the traditional egg hunt.
 
The City of Raleigh has several more Egg Hunts scheduled for Saturday morning at a variety of local Community Centers. Click through for the locations.
 
JC Raulston Arboretum puts a fun spin on the traditional Egg Hunt with a Spring Egg Scavenger Hunt. Starting on March 31st and running through April 8th, there will be eight brightly colored eggs hidden throughout the Arboretum. Pick up a clue, find the hidden eggs and unscramble the hidden message to earn a prize.
 
Orange County's Annual Community Egg Hunt will start off with entertainment by Katharine Whalen on the electric tenor guitar and William Dawson on the baritone guitar and then feature over 25,000 eggs hidden at River Park.
 
Search for over 3,000 eggs hidden across the grounds of the Burwell School Historic Site.
 
Saturday is Bunny Day at the Natural Science Center of Greensboro. Local rabbit breeders will display a wide variety of live rabbits, such as English Lops, New Zealand Giants and Satins, for visitors to see and pet.
 
Durham invites kids to search for eggs on Saturday at Campus Hills Park and West Point on the Eno.
 
Frog Fest & More Fun Festivals
 
Bring the whole family to Crowder Park Saturday afternoon for their annual family favorite, Frog Fest. The event celebrates frogs and clean water with games, crafts, educational activities and food. ParkGeek will be there playing Stuck in the Mud. There are educational games for the little ones, a scavenger hunt for older kids, lots of live animals and carnival food for everyone to enjoy.

 

BW Wells Heritage Day at Falls Lake State Recreation Area will teach you all about the pioneer ecologist and early botanist through Guided Walks, Self-guided Tours, Children"s Activities, and Games, Displays and Exhibits & Free Plant and Seed Raffles.
 
Celebrate Spring with the Spring Plant and Craft Festival at Sarah P. Duke Gardens. Come check out the plants, bird houses, and garden related art. The Durham County Master Gardeners will also be there with free horticultural advice.
 
Bennett Place State Historic Site welcomes volunteers to join in on Civil War Park Day. Volunteer your time and energy while you help them work on projects like the 19th century kitchen garden, staining picnic tables and workshed, landscaping and clearing nature trails.
 
Indoors at the Museums & Fairgrounds
 
The North Carolina Museum of Art kicks off the weekend with the 1961 Doris Day, Rock Hudson flick, Lover Come Back and an Auction Preview. The Auction Preview combines live music, tasty bites, and beverages with an opportunity to preview the works of art to be auctioned at the Art of the Auction benefit on April 14.

 

March Science Madness finishes out the month with Round Three: Sports Science Saturday at the Museum of Life and Science.
 
Saturday morning, the Holly Springs Cultural Center will be showing the movie Happy Feet Two.
 
NanoDays is a nationwide festival about nanoscale science and engineering and its potential impact on the future. NanoDays comes to Marbles Kids Museum Saturday with hands-on programs and interactive demonstrations on all things teeny-tiny. Also at Marbles, click through for the full schedule of fun events during Spring Break Blast.
 
The State Fairgrounds will be the site of this year's Wake County Library Book Sale. Come on out to snag some great deals on everything from bestsellers to textbooks while supporting our local libraries.
 
The Fairgrounds will also be hosting a Precious Gem & Mineral Show, a Car Care Fair.
 
Area bands are booked to showcase their talent during Saturday's Teen Band Night at the Holly Springs Cultural Center.
 
Get Out to a Park
 
Explore Lake Crabtree County Park after dark on a Night Hike! Learn about night vision, and how diurnal and nocturnal animals use their senses.

 

Come out to Harris Lake County Park for Catch'n Cook. After a relaxing day of fishing, you will use cast iron pots over a fire to cook a back country meal featuring the catch of the day.
 
Join the Occoneechee Ranger for a mile-long hike to learn about Early Spring Tree Identification.
 
Eno River State Park will kick off the weekend with some Birdwatching and continue the exploration with a program on Salamanders and Frogs.
 
Historic Yates Mill Pond County Park invites you to delve deeper into the fully restored mill on a Mill Heritage & Local History Tour.
